The global reach of Architectural Technology/Building Design has been further extended following the signing of a collaborative arrangement between the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists and the Building Designers Association of Victoria.

The arrangement provides for collaboration on matters relating to Architectural Technology and Building Design and allows the two organizations to share relevant information, knowledge and best practice for the betterment of professionals, the built environment and the wider society.

The areas of collaboration include sharing expertise and fostering professionalism regarding education, practice, technical and certification activities and performance standards, and working together to foster cooperation within allied professional bodies, government authorities and others.

Speaking of the collaboration, Gary Mees, President of CIAT said, “The arrangement demonstrates the implementation of CIAT’s vision for the global reach of Architectural Technology and the Institute’s aim to align, collaborate and partner with innovative bodies such as BDAV. 

“The importance, value and impact of Architectural Technology and of its kindred discipline, Building Design, are critical to ensuring that projects are realized efficiently and effectively, with  the performance of buildings relating to function and form optimized.”

The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists is a qualifying body for architectural technology and represents those practicing and studying within the discipline. CIAT qualifies Chartered Architectural Technologists, MCIAT, and professionally qualified Architectural Technicians, TCIAT.
