Frank Nerenhausen, executive vice president at Oshkosh Corporation and president of JLG Industries, Inc., delivered the keynote speech at the T50 Summit of World Construction Machinery Industry earlier this week. Nerenhausen used the opportunity to discuss the role technology has played in the development of aerial work platforms and to share his vision of what job sites may look like in the future. In his remarks, he focused on how technology has and continues to advance safety and productivity on job sites.

“Technology continues to be the key enabler behind AWP product enhancements and is the catalyst for changes to how job sites are managed,” Nerenhausen said. He went on to look at the impact advanced telematics will likely have on the ability to monitor and analyze job sites, enabling higher work quality and safer operations. The T50 Summit, started in Beijing in 2011, is collectively organized by the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA), Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the Korean Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (KOCEMA) and co-organized by China Construction Machinery magazine.
