Simpson Strong-Tie, the leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, will display the seismic resiliency of a two-story Simpson Strong-Tie Strong Frame special moment frame at the 2018 Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC) June 27–28 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco. Simpson Strong-Tie will also showcase 3D modeling software along with state-of-the-art planning solutions from CG Visions, the leader in Building Information Management (BIM) technology for the residential construction industry.

Sponsored by the California Building Industry Association and endorsed by the Leading Builders of America, PCBC is a professional trade show and conference for the residential housing market and annually draws more than 10,000 builder attendees for education, networking and product innovation demonstrations.

“We’re excited to meet new builders and connect with our existing customers as Simpson Strong-Tie continues to identify opportunities to provide value in residential construction,” says Simpson Strong-Tie Vice President of Builder Sales, Nate Johnston. “PCBC has also always been known as an annual highlight of emerging technologies and solutions, and we’re looking forward to sharing the booth with CG Visions for the first time as the industry increasingly turns to BIM for next-generation advancements in design, modeling and project management.”

Acquired by Simpson Strong-Tie in January 2017, CG Visions provides BIM consultation, technology and services to single-family and multifamily residential builders to help them realize cost and labor efficiencies across the design and construction cycle. In addition to CG Visions, software kiosks at Simpson Strong-Tie (Booth #651) will provide demonstrations of Ruby Sketch and LotSpec BIM solutions as well as exhibit the Simpson Strong-Tie Deck Planner Software, a 100 percent free, cloud-based technology providing 3D plan views, materials lists, permit information and more to improve the overall deck-building experience for contractors.

Designed to provide optimal moment transfer solutions for both new and retrofit projects, the Simpson Strong-Tie Strong Frame special moment frame features Yield-Link structural fuse technology to ensure the resiliency of the frame during seismic events. Additional Simpson Strong-Tie hardware featured at PCBC 2018 includes the following:

  • The Deck-Drive line of conventional wood, composite and exotic hardwood decking screws available either in bulk for hand-driving or paper-collated for the Quik Drive auto-feed driving system
  • The Strong-Drive WSV and WSNTL Subfloor screws designed and tested to hold subfloor connections tight and available collated for the Quik Drive  subfloor systems for fast installation while standing
  • The Outdoor Accents line of decorative hardware — including screws, washers, angles, straps, hangers and post bases — combining strength and beauty for custom outdoor living structures
  • The DG fire wall hanger series, designed for connecting floor trusses and joists to wood stud fire walls, and available with either skewed or offset options
