Makita is pleased to announce the winning of The Home Depot® 2018 Innovation Award.

The Home Depot Innovation Award recognizes products that deliver a unique offering in market with true value and efficiency across multiple home improvement categories. Makita 18V LXT Sub-Compact was named “Overall Winner” for giving customers maximum power in a more compact size.

Makita accepted the award on Tuesday at The Home Depot’s Annual Supplier Partnership Meeting in Atlanta.

“Makita is honored to receive this award from The Home Depot,” said Ken Hefley, executive VP of marketing, Makita U.S.A., Inc. “Makita cordless products are engineered to help users solve problems and work more efficiently. With Sub-Compact, Makita created a new class in cordless by combining the handling of a 12-volt tool with the performance and compatibility of an 18 volt tool. Sub-Compact gives users a total solution with smaller, lighter tools for work overhead or in tight spaces, but with the broad compatibility of the 18V battery that powers over 200 LXT cordless solutions.”

Makita’s expanding Sub-Compact line includes drills, impact drivers, impact wrenches, reciprocating and circular saws, a rotary hammer and a radio, with more solutions on the way. All 18V LXT Sub-Compact tools carry a new black trade dress that distinguishes the line as a new class in cordless tools. Sub-Compact is part of the Makita LXT system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries.
