SPEC MIX Regional Manager Trey Harris organized the "Bricks, Blocks & Bags for Bikes" live charity auction at the North Texas SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 regional event in Ft. Worth, TX. The area's mason contractors showed up in full force at Builders Equipment & Supply to bid on equipment and products donated by national and local suppliers. When the bidding ended, Harris and Marc Istook with WFAA-ABC News amazed the crowd by reporting $50,000 was raised, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the WFAA Santa's Helpers Foundation to buy bikes for under privileged children in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
The event was a huge success for the community as well as the Texas' masonry industry. Harris himself was surprised by the outcome, "I'm very pleased about the way so many of our contractors and suppliers rallied to support such a great cause that will make this Christmas special for so many children...it's truly amazing!"
