Design Your Dream Deck Contest comes to 2019 Remodeling Show and Deck Expo

SST Deck Planner
November 8, 2019

Simpson Strong-Tie will launch its Deck Planner Software Design Your Dream Deck contest on November 4 in conjunction with the 2019 Remodeling Show and Deck Expo.

Open to everyone, the Simpson Strong-Tie Deck Planner Software Design Your Dream Deck contest will pit entrants against each other to see who can design the best dream deck using Simpson Strong-Tie’s free, web-based Deck Planner Software. The winner will receive up to $500 of the Simpson Strong-Tie products specified in the winning design to build the deck during the 2020 deck season.

The latest version of Simpson Strong-Tie Deck Planner Software launched in June 2019 and is powered by an in-app tutorial to guide users step by step through the custom deck design process. The software allows users to select shapes, modify dimensions, choose from various deck board and railing options, and toggle between 2D and 3D design modes. Users can also type in deck dimensions and have the software design a foundation model for customization.

“Deck Planner Software is designed for simple, easy use that’s convenient and task driven,” says Simpson Strong-Tie director of Customer-Facing Software, Tim Beckman. “The latest generation of this popular software makes it simple for DIYers and deck builders alike to easily design stronger, safer decks while taking advantage of powerful features for working on more complex and customized projects. We’re excited to see the kinds of designs and ideas users can come up with for this Design Your Dream Deck contest.”

Remodelers, builders, and designers interested in taking the Deck Planner Software web application for a test drive can visit Simpson Strong-Tie at Booth #533 during the 2019 Remodeling Show and Deck Expo November 7–8 in Louisville, KY. Sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders and the North American Deck and Railing Association, the Remodeling Show and Deck Expo annually brings together residential remodeling and building professionals from all over the country to experience the hottest products, learn the newest building techniques, and build their professional reach through fun networking events.

Anyone who chooses to participate in the Simpson Strong-Tie Design Your Dream Deck contest will have until February 28, 2020, to submit their deck plan on the official Deck Planner Software Design Your Dream Deck contest website. For more information or to use the free web-based Deck Planner Software and deck construction solutions from Simpson Strong-Tie, visit strongtie.com/deckplanner.
