Six people were injured in a construction site collapse in Suffolk County, New York, in early November, as reported by Joanne Holcomb from the site Local Accidents Report.

A storage facility for a car dealership was undergoing renovations when an entire cinderblock wall that was being demolished came crashing down. Some of the workers who were on a lift when the wall collapsed were thrown into the air, then fell to the ground with the cinderblock.

A total of six people were injured. Three of them are currently in critical condition.

OSHA will be investigating the cause of the incident, the story read.

Construction industry workers face hazardous working conditions year-round. Statistics from OSHA show that 800 construction site deaths occurred in one recent year. Construction site fatalities account for around 20 percent of all job site deaths in the private sector every year, nationwide.

Being injured in an accident can be an extremely disruptive, frightening, confusing and overwhelming time in a person’s life. After being injured by no fault of your own, the last things you need to be concerned with are the financial obligations and other stressors that only make physical recovery more challenging. Making sure that you have compassionate and skilled representation to fight for your rights so you don’t have to battle insurance companies on your own will go a long way toward helping you move forward.
