The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced a two-year workplace safety and health alliance with the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council Apprentice and Training Center Program-St. Louis Campus. The new alliance aims to provide safety training to apprentices, members, industry professionals and OSHA to aid in recognizing and preventing workplace hazards in the residential, commercial and industrial construction sectors.

The program will specifically focus on delivering training on four construction industry hazards: heat illness prevention, falls, electrical hazards, and struck-by and caught-in-between hazards. Participants will also share information on OSHA campaigns, including the National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, Heat Illness Prevention, Preventing Suicides in Construction and the Safe + Sound Campaign to encourage every workplace to have a safety and health program.
