The General Services Administration’s Office of Federal High-Performance Green Buildings announced a public meeting of the Green Building Advisory Committee on Nov. 2 to address the following agenda items, among others: unspecified recommendations from the Federal Building Decarbonization Task Group and the Green Leasing Task Group, a discussion on potential topics for the Green Building Advisory Committee and a period for public comments. The Green Building Advisory Committee provides advice to GSA on how to rapidly transform federal buildings to utilize sustainable green technologies and practices. The Advisory Committee focuses primarily on reviewing strategic plans, products and activities of the Office of Federal High-Performance Green Buildings and provides advice regarding how the Office can accomplish its mission most effectively.

The notice also includes an announcement of a series of meetings of the Federal Building Decarbonization Task Group on consecutive Mondays from Oct. 16-30, 2023, and alternative Mondays from Nov. 13, 2023, through Feb. 26, 2024. The Federal Building Decarbonization Task Group will work to develop recommendations for the full Green Building Advisory Committee to propose to GSA focused on federal building decarbonization strategies.

The meeting of the Green Building Advisory Committee will be held on Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET and will be available to the public in-person at GSA Headquarters, 1800 F Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20405 as well as virtually. Those interested in participating in the meeting must register by email to gbac@gsa.gov by 12 p.m. ET on Oct. 30, including first and last name, organization, email address and any interest in providing public comment. Requests to observe any of the Federal Building Decarbonization Task Group meetings must be submitted by email to gbac@gsa.gov by 5 p.m. ET on the Monday before the meeting in question.
