In the Jan. 26 Federal Register, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will announce public meeting sessions for the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health and its workgroups on Feb. 21 – 22. The ACCSH workgroups on “Emerging Technology,” “Work Zones” and “Health in Construction” will meet on Feb. 21. The full ACCSH will subsequently meet on Feb. 22 to receive updates and remarks from the Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA, receive an industry update from the Directorate of Construction, facilitate a discussion on women in construction, facilitate a discussion on unspecified ACCSH workgroup reports and receive public comments. The ACCSH’s discussion on women in construction follows OSHA’s publication of a proposed rule on personal protective equipment in construction that seeks to help women pursue careers in construction.

The meeting sessions will be held on Feb. 21 – 22, beginning at 9 a.m. ET each day. The sessions will be available both remotely and in-person in Conference Room C-5320, Room 6 at the U.S. Department of Labor, which is at 200 Constitution Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. Those interested in attending in-person must register by email to Gretta Jameson at jameson.grettah@dol.gov by Feb. 15. Virtual participation instructions will be made available here in advance. Written comments and requests to speak during the meeting sessions are due by Feb. 15 and can be submitted here using Docket ID OSHA-2024-0002. Requests to speak must include the amount of time requested to speak; the interest that the speaker represents (e.g., business, organization, affiliation), if any; and a brief outline of the speaker’s presentation.
