Simtek Brings High-Tech StealthALERT Alarm to Construction Industry

November 16, 2024

Simtek, the manufacturer of the StealthALERT compact, wireless alarm, announced its entrance into the construction industry by attending the Specialty Tools and Fasteners Distributors Association trade show in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Simtek StealthALERT, which was originally designed to protect individual property in personal home safes, has become increasingly popular among construction contractors, who are using the device to monitor tools and equipment stored in job site trailers, Connex boxes, toolboxes or other remote storage solutions.

“The construction industry has always been on our radar,” said Brady Simpon, founder and CEO of Simtek. “Usage of the StealthALERT units by construction contractors has been growing organically, but we are excited to begin partnering with contractors across the construction landscape to help monitor and protect their tools and equipment.”

A device the size of a hockey puck, the Simtek StealthALERT is a compact, wireless alarm that detects light, motion and vibration. When the unit senses any of those stimuli, it sends an alert to a user’s (one or multiple) cell phone, notifying them that the unit has detected either light, motion or vibration.

Simtek’s most recent success story comes from an electrical contractor in San Diego, who was using the device to monitor equipment in a job site trailer. The StealthALERT notified the customer of potential trouble at his trailer late at night. The customer called police and, ultimately, a suspect was arrested and nearly $3,500 was saved. See the customer’s testimonial here.

The StealthALERT requires no external power, as it runs on a one-year rechargeable battery and sends signals exclusively through 4G LTE cellular networks. It automatically works in more than 160 countries worldwide.

Currently, the Simtek StealthALERT can be purchased at the Simtek website, Amazon, or 65+ dealers across the U.S. and beyond. The unit costs $150 and also requires a monthly cellular service plan after the free, initial 30-day trial period. Monthly fees are $4.20 if paid month-to-month or $3.85 if paid annually.

Simtek anticipates that several construction and equipment retailers and distributors will be offering the StealthALERT units soon.
