The Gypsum Association, on behalf of its manufacturing member companies, announces the launch of a dedicated microsite focused on the benefits of glass mat gypsum sheathing in residential construction: gypsumsheathing.org.

For more than three decades, glass mat gypsum sheathing has been a trusted choice among architects, builders, contractors, and code officials in commercial construction, thanks to its outstanding fire, mold and moisture resistance, cost-effectiveness, and availability.

Today, these same proven benefits are driving increased adoption in the residential construction market, as building professionals and homeowners seek long-term protection for both people and property.

Gypsumsheathing.org offers architects, specifiers, builders, code officials and homeowners a centralized hub for product information, technical resources and installation guidance. With growing demand for high-performance building envelopes in residential projects, the microsite highlights the value of choosing glass mat gypsum sheathing as a reliable, code-compliant alternative to traditional sheathing materials.

Key features of the microsite include:

•    A downloadable design guide

•    Audience-specific information and guidance

•    Frequently asked questions

•    Residential wall assembly examples

•    ICC-ES Evaluation Report “ESR-5654”

"Residential construction is evolving, and building professionals need solutions that balance performance, efficiency, and code compliance," said Steve Meima, executive director of the Gypsum Association. "This microsite was developed to provide clear, accessible guidance on using glass mat gypsum sheathing in homes backed by decades of success in commercial applications."

To explore the new microsite and learn more about how glass mat gypsum sheathing can improve your next residential project, visit gypsumsheathing.org.
