Johns Manville will expand its operations in Barrow County with the construction of a new production line.
According to a Wednesday release from county officials, construction is expected to begin in early 2026, with operations launching by mid-2027.
“Barrow County is and will continue to be a great place to do business, and we are appreciative of the leadership at Johns Manville for their continued investment into our community,” said Pat Graham, Chairman of the Barrow County Board of Commissioners. “The company serves as a valuable business partner and, more importantly, a great neighbor to our citizens. I would also like to extend my gratitude to County Manager Srikanth Yamala, who worked tirelessly to complete this deal during his time as Interim Economic Development Director.”
Johns Manville already operates a plant in Winder. The new expansion will add more than 30 jobs, including roles for operators, maintenance technicians, and warehouse employees. Once complete, the company will employ over 350 people in Barrow County.
“Johns Manville is thrilled to invest in the Barrow County community, recognizing the immense potential for growth and collaboration,” said Greg Clarke, President of Insulation Systems at Johns Manville. “We value our positive relationship with local leaders, whose support and ongoing partnership are important to JM’s ability to remain an employer of choice in the area.”
