The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit in Louisiana has arrested Angel Lambert, 37 and William Lambert III, 43, following an investigation into alleged contractor fraud.
According to WAFB, detectives launched the investigation after receiving a complaint from one of the couple’s customers. Authorities determined that the Lamberts accepted approximately $187,000 for a residential construction project but failed to complete the work.
Investigators also discovered that the pair hired unlicensed subcontractors and did not hold a valid contractor’s license themselves. The sheriff’s office reported that the Lamberts created and altered documents in an attempt to deceive investigators.
Both Angel and William Lambert have been charged with residential contractor fraud, forgery, obstruction of justice, and theft more than $25,000.
