If Walls Could Talk

Western Partitions Inc: Contractor of 2025

From their roots in Wilsonville, Ore., to an expansive footprint across 11 offices nationwide, Western Partitions continues to set the benchmark for excellence, resilience, and leadership in the wall and ceiling industry.

In this episode of “If Walls Could Talk,” Walls & Ceilings’ editor John Wyatt speaks with Mike and Victor Roach of Western Partitions Inc., a major force in the wall and ceiling contracting world. Based in Wilsonville, Ore., WPI has long been recognized as one of the largest and most diversified specialty contractors in the western United States. Mike, chairman of the board, and Victor, the company’s president, joined Wyatt following their meeting earlier this year at the NWCB annual show in Coeur d’Alene—an event that also led to the company becoming Walls & Ceilings’ December cover story.

2025 Contractor of the Year

John Wyatt speaks with Mike and Victor Roach of Western Partitions Inc., a major force in the wall and ceiling contracting world. Listen in as John surprises them with the news that they have been named 2025's Contractor of the Year.

Wyatt opens the conversation by asking the Roaches how 2025 is shaping up as the year winds down. Despite turbulence in the construction market, particularly on the West Coast, both leaders say WPI is closing the year on a strong note. “Even though a lot of people see the construction climate as a little rocky, we’ve had good fortune,” Victor notes. Mike agrees, though he doesn’t sugarcoat conditions in their home region. “Washington, Oregon, and California are all pretty bad,” he explains. “All three of these markets are probably 30 to 50 percent off.” Fortunately, WPI’s broad geographic reach—11 offices across multiple states—has helped balance the slowdown. The company continues to stay active in markets outside the West Coast, keeping the overall pipeline strong heading into 2026.

WPI’s size, reach, and performance are precisely why W&C chose to spotlight the company in its upcoming issue. During the discussion, the magazine reveals a piece of news the Roaches were not expecting: Western Partitions has been named the 2025 W&C’s Contractor of the Year. The announcement leaves both Mike and Victor momentarily stunned, then deeply appreciative. “Wow, that’s quite an award,” Mike says. “We really appreciate that—what an honor.”

The interviewer credits the Northwest Wall and Ceiling Bureau—particularly Tina, Gabe, and Peter—for facilitating introductions and helping coordinate the cover shoot. Their collaboration, he says, helped bring WPI’s story to the forefront.

As the episode wraps, W&C encourages listeners to read the detailed cover feature in the December issue, calling it an essential look at a company that continues to set the standard in its field. With humility and enthusiasm, Mike and Victor thank the magazine and the industry partners who helped them along the way.

Another year, another standout story—and Western Partitions Inc. stands tall among them.
