The hour-long webinar "Next-Level Drywall Corners: Live Demo of Precision Grooving Techniques" covered mainly AMES' GROOVE-90 tool, demoed in live time to demonstrate its capabilities and functionality. Fernando Tapia, Head of Specialty Products, displayed basic service adjustments and how to use the tool with a few basic examples. The company's Director of Education Mark Wilson introduced Tapia while assisting him throughout the 60-minute demo. The event was sponsored by AMES Tools Corp.

The GROOVE-90 is a versatile, portable milling machine engineered to help professionals make precise profile cuts in a variety of construction and fabrication materials. Designed primarily for gypsum drywall panels, plywood, solid wood, and aluminum, the tool excels at cutting clean V-grooves and profile shapes that are essential in forming seamless outside corners, soffits, column wraps, and other architectural elements. Its precision eliminates the need for traditional corner bead, joint compound, or joint tape in many drywall applications, saving time and reducing finish costs.

Despite its compact size and portability, the GROOVE-90 delivers the performance typically expected from larger, stationary machines. It can also cut multiple kerfs in a single pass for complex radius profiles and even carve rectangular grooves suitable for recessing LED lighting strips—making it a flexible choice for modern interior finishes and custom detailing.

The system is available in different kit configurations, such as the Starter Kit and Pro Kit, which bundle the milling motor with guide rails, a variety of cutter blades, positioning guides, and accessories like a vacuum hose adapter and carrying case. These kits are tailored to both basic setup needs and more advanced on-site milling requirements. Overall, the product brings precision, adaptability, and enhanced productivity to professionals working with drywall and mixed material projects, offering a practical alternative to traditional hand tools and larger milling equipment. Other models are available.

After the live demo session, Tapia and Wilson fielded questions submitted throughout the program, touching on topics such as thickness cutting, types of glue to use, functionality, jobsite use and more.

The event is archived on wconline.com/events/1606-next-level-drywall-corners-live-demo-of-precision-grooving-techniques.

The tools are available at ShopAmesTools.com/GROOVE-90.
