Expert Drywall, LLC has completed an ownership transition, moving the company from longtime owners Martin Holberg and James McDade to four internal leaders: Alec McDade (Co-President, Principal), Joshua O’Connor (Co-President, Principal), Ryan Miller (Vice-President, Principal), and Leif Biffle (Vice-President, Principal). The company said the change continues its long-standing history of local ownership dating back to 1948. The announcement was made via its staff to the Puget Sound Business Journal.

Holberg said the transition was planned to support continuity for clients, employees and business partners. McDade added that the new ownership team has worked directly with long-term general contractor relationships and understands what it takes to deliver complex commercial projects on schedule and within budget.

Alec McDade joined Expert Drywall in 2021 and will take on an expanded leadership role as part of the ownership group. Prior to joining the contractor, he worked as a project engineer at Howard S. Wright, with experience on major commercial work including the Microsoft Campus Modernization and REI Headquarters (now owned by Meta).

Joshua O’Connor began his career with Expert Drywall in 2006 and has held multiple roles over his tenure. In 2014, he moved into the office as a project manager/estimator and currently serves as chief estimator and contract administrator. His project experience includes Providence Medical Center Everett, Koda Condominiums, AMLI Tower and the Microsoft Campus Modernization.

The company said new owners Ryan Miller and Leif Biffle bring additional depth in project delivery, client relationships and operations. Holberg and McDade will remain involved as senior advisors during the transition period.

Founded in 1948, Expert Drywall provides steel-stud framing, prefabrication, weather barriers, plaster and drywall services throughout the Pacific Northwest. The company is based in Snohomish, Wash.
