What's New at the 2026 Slag Cement School
The Slag Cement Association will host its fifth annual Slag Cement School in Wilmington, Dela., April 21-22, offering technical education on slag cement fundamentals, ASTM C595 blended cement applications, performance case studies and a Heidelberg Materials plant tour as the industry shifts toward more sustainable concrete mixtures.

The Slag Cement Association announced that registration is open for the fifth annual Slag Cement School in Wilmington, Delaware, on April 21-22, 2026. The school will include educational presentations on slag cement use in concrete construction, sustainable resources available, and other presentations on benefits of slag cement use. On day two, attendees will also get a behind-the-scenes look at Heidelberg Materials’ slag cement plant.
“We are excited to bring Slag Cement School to the Mid-Atlantic region,” stated Nick Brimley, Membership and Marketing Director, Slag Cement Association. “With the shift toward the use of blended cements and the push for more sustainable construction, this event is a great opportunity for the industry to learn about the latest slag cement applications."

- The Evolution of Blended Cements: Leveraging Slag Cement under the New ASTM C595 Framework, presented by Clayton McCabe, Quikrete and Shawn Kalyn, St Marys Cement
- Concrete Performance Across a Wide Slag Range: Case Study, presented by Dr. Xiuping Feng, Ozinga
- Slag Cement: The Solution to Mid-Atlantic Concrete Challenges, presented by Henry Prenger, Amrize
