ALI Launches 2026 Ladder Safety Survey Amid Safety Month

Survey marks 10 years of ladder safety campaign

The American Ladder Institute (ALI) has launched its 2026 Ladder Safety Training and Citations Survey as part of National Ladder Safety Month, which marks its 10th anniversary in March.

The survey asks safety professionals, employers and organizations that use ladders to share information on safety training practices, ladder-related injuries and OSHA citation activity. Results will be compiled into a report examining trends in ladder incidents, training methods and enforcement patterns nationwide.

The 2026 survey is the fifth in a series conducted by the institute, following previous reports released in 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2024.

“Results will help ALI continue to improve its ladder safety training materials, hone topics for future observances of National Ladder Safety Month, and help professionals and DIYers better understand proper ladder usage,” said Mike Van Bree, ALI president and director of product safety and engineering at Louisville Ladder.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and responses are anonymous. Participation is open through March 31.

The launch coincides with the 10th annual National Ladder Safety Month, observed each March since 2016 to promote safe ladder use in workplaces and homes.

“This milestone marks a decade of progress in changing the culture around ladder safety,” Van Bree said.

The 2026 campaign includes a five-week education program focused on ladder selection, inspection, setup and safe climbing practices. ALI also offers free online ladder safety training resources year-round.

Findings from the 2026 survey will be released after data collection concludes.
