Okibo and PCI Scale Construction Tech with New Robot Fleet
Strategic deal inked after a year of successful pilots of the EG7 and EG7+ for mission-critical and commercial construction sites.

Okibo announced a significant expansion of its partnership with Performance Contracting Inc., one of the largest specialty wall and ceiling contractors in the U.S. Following the success of its initial collaboration in Pennsylvania announced in April 2025, the two companies have signed a strategic national partnership with PCI, ordering new units of Okibo’s robots to support high-priority builds across the nation. In this partnership, PCI receives early access to Okibo’s new developments in the field of finishing and serves as an active design partner.
PCI is currently utilizing the EG7 and EG7+ models, Okibo’s most advanced autonomous robots, to handle large-scale drywall finishing and sanding tasks. The EG7+ is specifically designed for high-wall projects, with the ability to reach up to 24 feet for sanding and Level 4 finishing. This capability is critical for data center environments, which often feature high ceilings and vast open spaces that require rapid, dust-free execution.
“The speed and precision required for modern data center construction are relentless,” said Ryan Crist, Innovation Manager of Performance Contracting Group. “By expanding our fleet of Okibo robots, we aren’t just increasing our capacity; we are doubling down on our commitment to worker safety. These additional tools allow our skilled tradespeople to focus on quality while the robot handles the heavy, repetitive overhead work that leads to physical burnout.”
Okibo’s robots operate with zero site preparation, utilizing a patented AI-guided 3D scanning and real-time modeling algorithm. This allows the robot to navigate and execute tasks nearly autonomously without the need for BIM tools, external sensors, or Wi-Fi.
“PCI has been an incredible partner in demonstrating how robotics can empower a skilled workforce rather than replace it,” said Nadav Shuruk, CEO of Okibo USA. “The expansion of our partnership showcases the robots’ ability to meet the most demanding schedules in the world while reducing the health risks associated with dust and repetitive strain.”
