ACC Announces OSHA Ambassadorship

CPI, DII, ADI panels continue to lead the partnership for ACC.

American Chemistry Council
April 6, 2026

The American Chemistry Council and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration signed an Ambassador Alliance Agreement. This Ambassadorship reaffirms ACC’s commitment to foster safer and more healthful American workplaces.

ACC’s Center for the Polyurethanes Industry and the Diisocyanates and Aliphatic Diisocyanates panels have advanced the ACC-OSHA Alliance’s goals by raising awareness of OSHA’s rulemaking and enforcement initiatives, delivering training for employers, workers and OSHA officials, and strengthening outreach to increase the partnership’s visibility.

“When we signed our initial agreement with OSHA nine years ago, we made a clear commitment to work collaboratively to strengthen worker health and safety across the polyurethanes value chain,” said Jason Sloan, director of CPI.

“This Ambassadorship reflects meaningful progress, expanding access to training and technical resources for employers, workers and occupational health professionals. We’re proud to continue partnering with OSHA to help promote safe handling and build a stronger safety culture industrywide.”

The ACC-OSHA Alliance has achieved many successes, including the publication of medical screening guidance documents for both employers and employees, and has helped promote awareness of initiatives, including fall protection and hazard communication.

“For the diisocyanates industry, this partnership has been an opportunity to share insights from the field and turn them into helpful resources for employers and workers,” said Erin Dickison, associate director of the DII and ADI panels. “We look forward to continuing this engagement with OSHA and contributing to efforts to make continuous safety improvements.”

ACC and OSHA first created the Alliance in 2017 as a two-year commitment, which was renewed in 2020 for five years. The Ambassadorship will remain in effect as long as both parties continue working cooperatively in good faith.
