NanaWall Marks 40 Years of Glass Wall Innovation
NanaWall celebrates 40 years of innovation in opening glass wall systems for architects.

Forty years after helping define the opening glass wall category, NanaWall is celebrating a milestone that reflects decades of innovation, engineering and collaboration with the architectural community.
Founded in 1986, the family-owned company has built its reputation by working directly with architects and designers to develop opening glass wall systems that address evolving building performance, aesthetics and occupant experience. According to President and CEO Ebrahim Nana, that customer-first approach has remained unchanged since the company's founding.
"From the beginning, we built NanaWall around a simple instinct: identify what the market needs, then build the solution," Nana said. "Every innovation, every industry first, traces back to that same commitment, building something better for the architects and designers we're dedicated to serving."
The company's origins began with four brothers who recognized a gap in the marketplace through their work in real estate development. Combining engineering expertise with an entrepreneurial spirit, they developed products that would establish the opening glass wall category, blending innovation inspired by California's Bay Area with German engineering.
Over the past four decades, NanaWall has introduced numerous industry-first technologies, including FoldFlat technology for fully unobstructed openings, the first aluminum folding system to achieve a unit STC 45 acoustic rating, the first hurricane-rated folding glass wall system, and the first wood-to-clad folding system. The company also pioneered steel-inspired aluminum aesthetics, unlimited-width folding configurations, specialized designs such as open corners and segmented curves, the patented PrivaSEE frameless acoustically rated system, and the patented UniverSILL user-installable sill insert for weather performance upgrades.
Today, NanaWall offers a broad portfolio of opening glass wall solutions designed for residential and commercial projects. Its lineup includes the cero Minimal Sliding Glass Wall systems, stacking systems and its latest Generation 4 platform, which brings folding, sliding and window fenestration products together into a unified system. The company says its products continue to emphasize acoustic performance, thermal efficiency, structural engineering and minimal sightlines, with performance validated through independent third-party testing.
Looking ahead, NanaWall plans to continue advancing opening glass wall technology through new materials, improved performance and expanded applications while maintaining the partnerships it has built with architects, builders and designers over the past 40 years.
