While the original commercial passenger terminal was constructed in 1952, it wasn’t until the 1990s—when commuter airlines became more prevalent—that Alpena’s civilian air travel expanded enough to qualify for Federal Airport Improvement funds. By 2018, county and airport officials were ready to update operations by replacing the long-standing terminal with a more expansive and updated facility.

LMN Architects celebrates the completion of the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University. The project designed in collaboration with LS3P is a new hub for students intended to anchor Clemson’s historic heart as part of a planned expansion embracing the surrounding campus.

Spanning 107,000 square feet, five floors and two buildings, architect Perkins & Will designed fresh interiors to suit the company’s aesthetic and operational needs.

The panels were used as exterior wall cladding on this 166-foot-tall building consisting of 10 stories (a two-story base, and an eight-story tower).  They were installed by Tuschall Engineering of Burr Ridge, IL, and the architects for the project included Diller Scofidio + Renfro of New York City, and Brininstool + Lynch of Chicago. This project was the first-place winner in ATAS’ 2020 Project of the Year competition, in the commercial walls category.
