The U.S. Census Bureau launched a new experimental data product that features monthly construction spending estimates for private manufacturing. These estimates measure the construction work done on private new manufacturing structures or improvements to existing structures and include the cost of labor and materials, architectural and engineering work, overhead, interest, taxes paid during construction and contractor’s profits.
CGC Inc., the Canadian division of USG Corp., announced plans to build a new, state-of-the-art wallboard manufacturing plant in Wheatland County, Alberta. JLG’s parent company, Oshkosh Corporation, announced Nov. 15 that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Hinowa, a manufacturer of track-based aerial work platforms, mini dumpers, lift trucks and undercarriages. Once complete, Hinowa will become part of the Oshkosh Access Equipment segment, which also includes the JLG and Jerr-Dan brands.
Honeywell and Central Glass Co. Ltd. have announced an extension of their long-term partnership to include an agreement for Central Glass, based in Tokyo, to manufacture Solstice Liquid Blowing Agent (HFO-1233zd(E)) exclusively for Honeywell. The ready-now hydrofluoroolefin solution is a non-ozone-depleting, non-flammable, ultra-low-global-warming-potential foam blowing agent for use in a wide variety of foam systems and applications, including refrigerators, freezers, spray foam and panels.
