The ACI Foundation has partnered with the ACI Houston Chapter to create a new student academic award. Through the chapter’s generous donation, the ACI Foundation can offer an additional fellowship to benefit students studying in concrete-related degree programs, the ACI Houston Chapter Fellowship.

The SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 North Texas Regional event and its live mason contractor auction raised $58,700 at the sixth annual Bricks, Blocks & Bags for Bikes Charity Auction. The money enabled the local group of “Santa’s Helpers” to purchase 1,000 bikes for underprivileged youth in the North Texas area.

Georgia-Pacific officially opened its new gypsum wallboard production facility in Sweetwater, Texas, on Oct. 5. Initially announced in September 2020, the $325 million facility is Georgia-Pacific’s second gypsum wallboard production facility in Nolan County and the first Georgia-Pacific has built since 2004.
In April 2024, HPIP in-person training will be returning to Dallas. This upcoming workshop will be a two-day dynamic event with classroom instruction, hands-on installation and direct connections to employers. HPIP has the training materials, Job Corps Centers has the employable learners and industry contractors have the jobs to fill.
