The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry of the American Chemistry Council announced Sept. 27 that Wanhua Chemical (America) Co., Ltd’s WANNATE 9131FC has won the 2023 Polyurethane Innovation Award.

On Sept. 19, Dow announced the start-up of a new MDI distillation and prepolymers facility at its world-scale manufacturing site located in Freeport, Texas, which will supply an additional 30 percent of product to customers.

Installed Building Products of Columbus, Ohio, acquired Combee Insulation and its related companies. IBP says the purchase will add $16.5 million in annual revenue. Installed Building Products has more than 9,500 employees across 220-plus locations nationwide and was founded in 1977.

Sto Corp. has introduced its new Sto GPS Board, a graphite-enhanced, 100 percent closed-cell expanded polystyrene insulation board that can be used in a variety of applications, including the new StoTherm ci GPS wall system and improved StoTherm ci MVES and StoPowerwall ci systems.

Carlisle Spray Foam Insulation rolled out the Carlisle PRO Academy, a comprehensive training, education and certification program for spray foam professionals. Developed in direct response to contractor feedback, Carlisle PRO Academy participants can become certified applicators by completing a series of online learning modules and an in-field evaluation.
