The months leading up to March, which is National Ladder Safety Month, are critical because the milestone month does more than amplify a safety message; it also celebrates message penetration and accident reduction.

This past March, the message of National Ladder Safety Month reached millions of people. Now, the American Ladder Institute is seeking sponsors for the 2025 campaign so it can reach even more.

National Ladder Safety Month is observed next month, as it is every March. Begun by the American Ladder Safety Institute, the event raises awareness about ladder safety and encourages employers and their workers to engage in annual ladder safety training.

It’s a streak no one should be happy about. For the 13th year in a row, fall protection (general requirements) is OSHA’s No. 1 safety violation. Additionally, ladders came in third and fall protection (training requirements) was eighth in the agency’s annual list of its Top 10 violations.

The American Ladder Institute is seeking sponsors for next year’s National Ladder Safety Month. New for 2024, the enhanced Top Cap Sponsor becomes a leading voice on ladder safety at work and at home.

The American Ladder Institute spent last month marking National Ladder Safety Month, spreading the word about safe ladder practices, training opportunities and more. Because safety never takes a break, now is the time to take the lessons learned in March and carry them forward all year long.

One of the aims of Ladder Safety Month is to increase the number of people taking Ladder Safety Training from the American Ladder Institute. That, of course, is an effort that is not confined to a single month; it continues all year long, every year.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, ladder deaths accounted for 161 on-the-job fatalities in 2020, the most recent year for which statistics are available. That same year, there were 22,710 ladder-related workplace injuries, an injury stat that has remained relatively constant over the previous several years.
