Input sought to discuss standards

June 27, 2001
Manufacturers, officials and others are invited to a meeting of the ASTM Committee to discuss areas for standardization ...

Manufacturers, code officials and other stakeholders are invited to a meeting of the American Society for Testing and Materials Committee to discuss proposed areas for standardization during the meetings of main Committee C24 on building seals and sealants, June 24 to 27, in Norfolk, Va.

ASTM also encourages attendance June 26 and 27 for a revision of fiber-reinforced cement products. Input from manufacturers is needed to decide what exterior products specifications will be added to C1325, Standard Specification for Non-Asbestos Fiber-Mat Reinforced Cement Interior Substrate Sheets.

The association also lists a series of dates open to all interested. The ASTM Committee C16 on Thermal Insulation will be held Oct. 14 to 17, in Deerfield Beach, Fla.; ASTM Committee E33 on Environmental Acoustics Oct. 21 and 22, in Dallas; and ASTM Committee E06 on Performance of Buildings Oct. 21 to 24, also in Dallas.

Papers are invited for a symposium on building façade maintenance, repair and inspection, sponsored by ASTM Committee E06 on Performance of Buildings. The symposium will be held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12 and 13, 2002, in Norfolk, Va., in conjunction with the Oct. 13 to 16, 2002, standards development meetings of Committee E06.
