The Home Depot announced its support for the preparation of American's future skilled workforce by making an $85,000 cash donation to SkillsUSA-Vica. Home Depot's pledge will assist in the sponsorship of national SkillsUSA activities including its Career Fair; 2002 conference management guide, and online Employment Network. In addition, Home Depot supports SkillsUSA's TeamWorks competition where teams of students compete in residential construction projects.

"Our students are the future homebuilders of America and the homeowners of tomorrow," said Timothy Lawrence, executive director of Skills USA. "As prospective skilled workers in professions ranging from machining and drafting to transportation and health, our students are getting ready to take their place in building America's communities."
