At the 2009 International Builders’ Show, CertainTeed Corporation will be taking a new, multi-faceted approach in showcasing their interior and exterior building products. The CertainTeed exhibit is a thematic display driven by today’s building industry trends and will introduce attendees to new products and feature live radio broadcasts of HOME Live. In addition, product installations are featured in the NexGen “Urban Living” Home and The New American Home 2009.

“Our presence at IBS aligns CertainTeed products with key trends in the building industry, such as energy efficiency, acoustics, green, performance and lifestyle living,” said Eric Nilsson, vice president, corporate marketing for CertainTeed. “We are looking beyond the benefits of a single product and focusing on how products best work together to tackle many of today’s important building issues.”

Energy efficiency, performance, sustainability and lifestyle comprise the key themes of the CertainTeed exhibit, demonstrating how the company’s wide array of products can serve as solutions to challenges building professionals face. Attendees interested in energy efficiency will learn how insulation, solar reflective roofing shingles, insulated vinyl siding and foundation-related products can be used collectively to enhance the thermal performance of a home. In the Performance section of the exhibit, CertainTeed focuses on acoustics, moisture management and weather resistance as well as the company’s more than 20 high-quality products in these areas.

For those interested in green building, the Sustainability section aligns CertainTeed products with LEED and the NAHB Green Building Program guidelines. And, the Lifestyle section features innovative designs that incorporate the aesthetic appeal of the company’s fence, railing, deck, roofing, siding, and exterior trim products, while also focusing on the products that can be used to build comfortable inside living environments.

Located outside of the main entrance at IBS, the NextGen “Urban Living” Home features CertainTeed WeatherBoards FiberCement Siding with ColorMax Finishing system. Made with more than 30 percent recycled content, WeatherBoards contributes to the sustainability of the home and qualifies toward credits for LEED and the NAHB Green Building Program.

CertainTeed Fiber Glass Insulation and ProRoc Gypsum Board and Finishing Products are featured in The New American Home 2009. Designed to serve as a laboratory, educational tool and product showcase, the 8,700 square foot, net zero energy unit is open for tours to all IBS attendees.
