NARI Adds New Chapter
The National Association of the Remodeling Industry
announced the addition of a chapter, the NARI-BIE chapter of Pottstown, Pa.
Formerly known as the Building Industries Exchange of Pottstown and Vicinity
Inc., the chapter was previously a stand-alone organization with the same
vision and goal as NARI.
“We welcome the BIE with open arms and look forward to having a new NARI presence in an area that has been home to such a reputable organization for the last 60 years,” said NARI National President Michael Hydeck, MCR, CKBR, president of Hydeck Design Build.
NARI’s goal is that all businesses involved in the remodeling industry will want to be members of NARI, and the addition of NARI-BIE is a great indicator of future growth.
“We were fortunate enough to welcome two other groups into NARI in the summer of 2011-the Greater Cleveland and NARI-HIC of Staten Island Chapters-and this is yet another example of the power of independent trade groups aligning themselves with a strong national trade association,” Hydeck said.
NARI-BIE Chapter President Thomas L. Zeigler, president of Thomas L. Zeigler, PE, Inc., based in Pottstown, Pa., is looking forward to the new partnership. “The needs of members have changed, and we are looking forward to re-establishing the organization by bringing in beneficial programs and resources from NARI that bring value to membership,” he said.
Some of the things Zeigler hopes to accomplish this year as a NARI chapter are providing education and certification programming, organizing grassroots lobbying efforts, resurrecting a local home show, continuing a local awards program, expanding networking and programming opportunities, and partnering with local trade and vocational schools to strengthen workforce development.
NARI-BIE hopes to use the momentum of becoming a NARI chapter to forge relationships with local government entities and community development agencies. Zeigler is hopeful this activity will attract young professional members who are committed to moving the group’s mission forward well into the future.
NARI leaders will welcome representatives from the NARI-BIE chapter during the 2012 Spring Business Meeting held on April 18 to 21 at the Gaylord Texan Hotel and Conference Center Grapevine (Dallas), Texas.
