Rmax Announces 35 Year Anniversary

October 23, 2012

Rmax Operating LLC will celebrate its 35th anniversary, according to its President and COO Martin Heiskell. The company has been under the same ownership for all of its 35 years, manufacturing commercial, residential and industrial polyiso insulation products and providing engineered solutions for enhanced energy efficiency.

Milledge A. Hart, III, started the company in 1977 and is a founder and former director of The Home Depot and co-founder and past President of Electronic Data Systems. It officially began manufacturing products as Rmax, in April 1978, when it opened its first plant and delivery facility in Dallas, where its headquarters remains to this day.

A year later, Rmax opened a second manufacturing facility in Greer, S.C., and in 1981, a third plant was opened in Fernley, Nev.

Mr. and Ms. Hart have been the active owners of the company since its inception, making Rmax the longest-standing, privately held polyiso insulation manufacturer in the nation. Mr. Hart has always been Chairman of Rmax, and his spouse, Linda W. Hart, has served as the company's Vice Chairman since 1990.

“Rmax contributions to the industry are many,” said Heiskell, who noted the company's pivotal role in founding the Polyisocyanurate Insulation Manufacturers Association in 1987, under former Rmax President, Richard W. Griner, as a major milestone. “Our commitment to the industry and our customers endures, as we have recently introduced our ECOMAXci Wall Solution to provide continuous insulation for commercial buildings, and our Thermasheath-SI structural insulation solution for residential applications during the past year.”

Over the years, Rmax has engineered many building science breakthroughs, including structural roofing insulation products, green blowing agents and, more recently, its building envelope system insulation solutions. The company's technical expertise, customer service, commitment to sustainability and proven track record of supplying quality insulation and building solutions for all types of structures is renowned throughout the industry. Rmax operates sales offices coast-to-coast, ready to serve the needs of its evolving and expanding customer base.
