Hunter Panels has announced that its Continuous Insulation Wall Division Xci has created an app to help design professionals create assembly options for compliance with NFPA 285 wall assemblies utilizing polyiso products. NFPA 285 is a fire test for multistory wall assemblies required by code for commercial buildings Type I, II, III and IV construction. The assemblies include all products from interior finish to exterior cladding.

The application is easy to use and should save time, the company said. Once a wall type has been chosen (CMU, concrete or steel studs), then one selects the Xci Polyiso product. Finally, an exterior finish system is selected. The wall is then assembled with components and their specs labeled. At the end, users have the option of  choosing “View/Save PDF” where you can view the NFPA 285 compliant wall assembly options created.

The application was designed for use on a Droid, iPad, iPhone and there is a web based version on the Hunter XCI website, www.hunterxci.com.
