National Gypsum Announces Sponsorship of DIY Blog

National Gypsum announced its sponsorship of DIY Network’s Blog Cabin 2013 at INTEX Construction Expo in San Antonio.

National Gypsum announced its sponsorship of DIY Network’s Blog Cabin 2013 at INTEX Construction Expo in San Antonio. The company is using the sponsorship as a platform to introduce an extensive PURPLE Evolve Your Walls campaign to a consumer audience.

“We’re very excited about our sponsorship of DIY Network’s Blog Cabin 2013,” said Marketing Director Jay Watt. “The on-air and online elements of this sponsorship provide an ideal platform for educating people on the many benefits of National Gypsum’s family of PURPLE products. The Blog Cabin concept is relatable to all audiences, including architects, contractors and homeowners.”

DIY Network’s Blog Cabin is an interactive TV series returning for its seventh season, airing from July 29 through September 17. The series invites viewers and fans to design the 2013 Blog Cabin by voting on all of the major design elements, including color palette, fixtures and amenities, in hopes of winning the finished product, an exclusively-designed vacation home situated on North Carolina’s Crystal Coast. Blog Cabin is featured on six special episodes of the DIY Network shows: Mega Dens, Bath Crashers, Yard Crashers, House Crashers, Kitchen Crashers and I Hate My Yard. National Gypsum’s PURPLE products will be used throughout the home and showcased in a special episode of Mega Dens.

As part of the sponsorship announcement at INTEX Construction Expo, National Gypsum introduced the PURPLE Evolve Your Walls logo and tagline that will be used to promote its family of PURPLE products.

“For the past 10 years, National Gypsum’s family of PURPLE products has grown in the commercial segment of the construction industry, starting first with mold- and moisture-resistant XP Gypsum Board, followed by Shaftliner XP, Hi-Abuse XP, Hi-Impact XP and SoundBreak XP, and extending to eXP fiberglass-faced products, ProForm XP Joint Compound, and PermaBase Cement Board,” said Watt. “With our sponsorship of Blog Cabin, we’re expanding the reach of our message and image more broadly than ever before, with a special emphasis on reaching consumers and others in the residential building market.”

In addition to voting online for the home’s unique renovation elements at www.DIYNetwork.com/BlogCabin, viewers also can enter two Blog Cabin sweepstakes. The main sweepstakes will award one lucky viewer the grand prize: the newly renovated Blog Cabin. Fans also can enter to win the program’s “Cabin Comforts” sweepstakes, in which one winner will receive a duplicate set of amenities chosen for this year’s Blog Cabin. National Gypsum’s PURPLE will be included in the Cabin Comforts voting from April 4-May 17, and the newly remodeled home will be featured in a one-hour special airing Sept. 17.

 “While the Blog Cabin series runs on the internet and on DIY Network, we want consumers to understand and appreciate the unique value our PURPLE products have to offer,” Watt concluded.
