A subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas, Firestone Building Products declared its commitment to working with the company’s many stakeholders to realize a sustainable society. In order to achieve its environmental mission of habitat enhancement, natural resource conservation and CO2 reductions, the company adhered to sustainable manufacturing processes that balance industrial needs with the needs of neighboring communities, challenged its teammates to engineer sustainable products that would inspire customers and empowered teammates to carry out sustainable activities at work and in the community.

“At Firestone Building Products, sustainability is not just our end goal, it is part of our company-wide commitment to continuous improvement,” said Tim Dunn, president of Firestone Building Products. “We are pleased to demonstrate this commitment to produce sustainable building performance solutions and reduce our environmental footprint by sharing the results of our efforts in our 2012 sustainability report.”

Moving forward, the company will continue to focus on sustainable products, solutions and business practices by prioritizing short—and long-term goals to improve manufacturing processes; carefully evaluating factors including energy consumption, waste management and emissions; and monitoring performance and trends to identify additional areas of improvement.
