2015 Drywall Artist of the Year Contest: Open for Submissions

May 20, 2015

Trim-Tex announced they are now accepting submissions for the 10th Annual Drywall Artist of the Year contest.

The Drywall Artist of the Year contest seeks to highlight exceptional drywall artists and increase recognition of the trade. The contest challenges participants to enter their best drywall masterpieces. Any drywall projects exclusively using product bead are eligible for submission. An individual can enter more than one project into the contest.

“We are exceptionally excited about this year’s Drywall Artist of the Year contest since it is the 10th year,” said Joe Koenig, president of Trim-Tex said. “The contest has become a tradition in the drywall industry and Trim-Tex is thrilled to be a part of it. We are looking forward to seeing quite a few great entries. Selecting a winner will be a challenge.”

In 2006, the company launched the Drywall Artist of the Year contest. Throughout the past nine years, the contest has evolved to showcase a variety of drywall skills. The most recent winner, Bernie Mitchell, showcased his artful use of the bead and his ability to create drywall mud sculptures.

The company receives numerous project submissions each year. The competition encourages entries from across the world. Eight past winners are from the United States, while the most recent winner is Canadian.

Trim-Tex reviews all submissions and selects the winner based on overall skills, creativity, and design. To celebrate the contest’s 10th running, Trim-Tex is giving away $1000 in product credit, an estimated $500 in drywall tools and accessories, with two night hotel stay and round-trip airfare to Chicago.

The company will accept submissions for the 2015 Drywall Artist of the Year contest through January 31, 2016. A winner will be announced in February 2016. To be eligible to win, contestants must comply with all instructions. The application form, award information and competition guidelines are available on the competition Web site:
