Durability and Traditional Style are Combined with Board and Batten Siding

New siding profile recreates the historic charm and rustic cedar look of early American structures.

Siding favored by early American settlers is distinctively recreated with CertainTeed’s new Single 7-inch Board & Batten Vertical Siding. The latest profile combines traditional rough cedar flat-panel beauty with strength and durability of .052-inch thickness.

In addition to its thickness, the alternating wide and narrow vertical panels are now available in darker shades, creating a robust color palette with 22 options, including the following colors: Autumn Red, Charcoal Gray, Flagstone, Forest, Hearthstone, Mountain Cedar, Pacific Blue, Sable Brown, Spruce and Terra Cotta.

The darker shades are manufactured with durable capstock to ensure long-term weatherability. Superior color performance, impact resistance and durability are delivered through CertainTeed’s PermaColor System, which is a blend of Certavin resin, superior micro-ingredients and pigment chemistry. The new profile strengthens CertainTeed’s position of providing extensive selection of exterior products enabling customers to choose the right mix of materials for their unique project.

“The new 7-inch profile is not only durable and strong, its deluxe color options meet an array of preferred design options — perfect for the entire house or accent applications,” said Brian Kirn, senior marking manager for CertainTeed Siding Products Group. “Together with our 8-inch panel, it beautifully rounds out our full offering for Board & Batten.”

The Board & Batten 7-inch profile, featuring a flat face 5-½-inch board can be mixed and matched with any horizontal vinyl panel combination and also works well with CertainTeed’s complete line of Decorative Trim and Vinyl Carpentry accessories. The siding emulates real cedar boards, creating a natural woodgrain finish, and has the ability to withstand hurricane force winds. In addition, Board & Batten panels are virtually maintenance free, never require painting and covered by a lifetime-limited warranty.

CertainTeed offers unsurpassed Freedom of Choice through its industry-leading portfolio of roofing, long-lasting polymer, insulated and vinyl siding as well as fence, railing, decking and exterior trim. CertainTeed offers the advantage of using exterior products from a single source that are designed to mix-and-match with each other and feature authentic textures, versatile styles and rich color combinations, for a beautifully coordinated look.
