Terry Kastner has been appointed as the association’s Executive Director. Kastner joined the NWCB in 2007 as Director of Technical Services. He has over thirty years of experience in the wall and ceiling industry, beginning his career as a Union Carpenter with L.A.D.S. Local 1144. After thirteen years in the Union, he went to work as a Project Manager/Estimator for a nationwide specialty drywall contractor. Throughout his career, Kastner has been directly involved with light-gauge metal framing, drywall installation and finishing, acoustical-ceiling installation, and exterior stucco and EIFS claddings. Although the new position comes with its own set of responsibilities, Kastner will continue his strong commitment to the technical aspects of the wall and ceiling industry.

Peter Burns has joined the NWCB as Technical Consultant. He has over 25 years of field experience working as a building-science technician and trainer. Burns previously worked for a Minneapolis engineering firm, inspecting air-barrier installations, performing whole building air-leakage testing, and field-testing fenestration products. He started out in the building performance industry using blower doors and infrared scanners to locate and seal air-leakage paths in buildings following the Princeton University House Doctor protocol. He has also worked as a technical representative and trainer for an insulation manufacturer and for the manufacturer of the Minneapolis Blower Door System.
