Huntsman Building Solutions Partners with No-Burn, Incorporated

Leading Spray Foam Manufacturer to Make Select No-Burn Intumescent Coatings Available to Contractor Customers for Purchase

Huntsman Building Solutions announced a partnership with No-Burn, Incorporated, a proven and trusted fire protective coatings company. The partnership enables Huntsman Building Solutions to provide a selection of No-Burn’s intumescent coatings for purchase by contractor customers throughout the United States. The coatings, No-Burn Plus XD and No-Burn Plus ThB, are both ideal for use with spray polyurethane foam insulation and, effective immediately, are available for sale through Huntsman Building Solutions.

“As a recognized category leader in fire protection, No-Burn, Incorporated and its intumescent coatings both complement and are ideally paired with Huntsman Building Solutions’ robust line of spray foam insulation solutions,” says Doug Brady, vice president of global innovation and product management. “Now our valued contractors will have easy access to No-Burn’s highly effective fire protective coating solutions.”

No-Burn Plus XD is an intumescent coating used as a component in an alternative ignition barrier assembly. The fire protective coating is specifically designed for use with spray polyurethane foam insulation, protecting spray foam insulation in attics and crawl spaces. When exposed to heat and flame, No-Burn Plus XD expands, creating a char-barrier that protects treated substrates from fire. The coating is ideal for use with both open cell and closed cell spray foam insulation and is available in Gray.

No-Burn Plus ThB is a spray on thermal barrier and fire-resistant coating. The coating is ideal for application in interior and exterior assemblies, as well as conditioned or unconditioned spaces, and is designed specifically for use where spray foam insulation is installed. Used as a component in an alternative thermal barrier, an alternative ignition barrier, and/or an exterior fire rated wall assembly, No-Burn Plus ThB passively protects the spray foam in the event of a fire by delaying the rise in temperature, which in turn delays or prevents the spray foam from igniting. The coating is ideal for use with both open cell and closed cell spray foam insulation and is available in White and Gray with the field option to tint to Charcoal.

“Huntsman Building Solutions is a leader in spray polyurethane foam and is therefore a natural partner for No-Burn, Incorporated” says Bill Kish, president and CEO of No-Burn, Incorporated. “The companies’ products are ideally suited to work in concert, providing high performance insulation alongside key, code-compliant fire protection in a variety of built environments, whether residential, commercial or specialty.”
