Ware Malcomb announced Aug. 15 that Lilia Ortiz de Montellano Valdez has joined the firm as regional manager in its Monterrey, Mexico, office. In this role, she will work closely with the firm’s regional leaders to lead the growth and diversification of the office.

“Lilia will contribute significantly to our success as we expand our footprint and diversify our business platform in the region,” said Andres Galvis, principal at Ware Malcomb. “Throughout her career, she has demonstrated remarkable dedication, leadership and expertise in her field.”

Ortiz de Montellano Valdez brings more than 20 years of experience to Ware Malcomb, with a diverse resume of multi-family, mixed-use, corporate, institutional and commercial projects. Previously, she was responsible for business development at another design firm, where she collaborated with local and international developer clients and also collaborated with international award-winning design firms.

Ortiz de Montellano Valdez earned degrees in architecture and construction administration from Tecnologico de Monterrey and a master’s degree in arts education from Universidad Autónoma de Nueva León.

Ware Malcomb opened its Monterrey office in 2022, its second office in the country. In October, Ware Malcomb celebrated its 10th anniversary in Mexico City. The firm has designed over 950 projects in more than 20 states across Mexico.
