Simpson Strong-Tie and PEG, an innovator in residential construction engineering and energy, will showcase LotSpec software at Simpson Strong-Tie’s booth during the International Builders’ Show on Feb. 27-29 in Las Vegas. LotSpec is an innovative program that helps production builders manage options while ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

An add-in for Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture and Autodesk Revit, the LotSpec option management platform offers a simple, sophisticated way to optimize the building process. Builders can plan in LotSpec; pinpoint mechanical, electrical and plumbing in Revit; and store data in Autodesk Cloud.

“By partnering with companies like PEG, we are working on solutions that will transform residential design,” said Scott Lang, technology sales manager for Simpson Strong-Tie. “These tools connect the industry through innovation by leveraging 3D modeling and BIM.”

Building information modeling brings all the solutions together to create one integrated model output in a single stack. Users can quickly manage design options in 2D or 3D workflows, easily generate construction documents for bidding and approval processes, and automate creating master plans and lot-specific sets. LotSpec automates the creation of lot-specific documentation, provides tools and workflows for master bid set documentation, and produces a bill of materials for all three MEP trades.

“PEG LLC is pleased to partner with Simpson Strong-Tie in the first-ever integration of mechanical, electrical and plumbing designs into their industry-leading LotSpec platform,” said Matthew Cooper, PEG’s Senior Vice President and COO. “This transformative process empowers homebuilders to control one of the most complex aspects of homebuilding, enabling them to manage cost, construction time and customer experience all in one dynamic tool.”

Attendees and media can demo LotSpec and meet with Simpson Strong-Tie experts at Booth C2130 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
