Belgian precast manufacturer C-concrete has become a producing member of AltusGroup as an International Affiliate. The company will be licensed to produce CarbonCast Enclosure System products in its European market area among other product uses.

“The benefits of CarbonCast enclosure technology – improved strength, better insulation and lighter weight – are perfectly aligned with the progressive architectural movement in Europe,” said Tony Smith, current AltusGroup 2025 Chairman. “C-concrete’s experience with walls, façade panels, insulated sandwich panels and brick veneer panels will enable it to integrate CarbonCast technology into existing enclosure platforms to produce highly sustainable low carbon footprint sandwich panel wall assemblies to satisfy European market needs.”

Michel Catteau, managing director for C-concrete, will be the primary point of contact for the AltusGroup relationship according to former AltusGroup Executive Director John Carson, who executed the agreement between the two companies before his February 15 returement.

C-concrete has specialized production teams working in climate-controlled areas fitted with ultramodern equipment to produce high-standard prefabricated concrete that enables faster construction and can greatly reduce execution time.

CarbonCast precast concrete technology uses C-GRID® non-corrosive, high-strength, epoxy-coated carbon fiber grid as wythe connectors in insulated sandwich wall panels. Depending on the application, CarbonCast designs can reduce the weight of enclosure systems by up to 50 percent while offering full composite action and continuous insulation with improved R-values among other production and handling benefits.

AltusGroup precast concrete manufacturers have installed more than 60 million square feet (4.65 million square meters) of CarbonCast surface area on over 2500 structures since introducing the technology in 2004.
