ATAS International has named Sam Chapo, CSI, and Bill Peltz as the 2024 recipients of the annual Malan S. Parker Award, which recognizes the top ATAS sales professionals each year. Malan S. “Steve” Parker was an exemplary ATAS product representative in the New England territory, and he passed away in 2002. Since then, to honor his hard work and dedication to ATAS, the sales team of the year award is now known as the Malan S. Parker Award.  Chapo and Peltz were chosen as the 2024 winners for their teamwork in overall sales growth and observance of corporate goals and objectives.  

Sam Chapo is the ATAS product representative for Georgia and Alabama, and it’s the first year he has won this award.  Chapo has been with ATAS for over two years and has a total of over nine years of experience in building products sales.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Berry College in Georgia, and a certification in metal roof installation from the Metal Construction Association (MCA).  Chapo is involved with the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Atlanta chapter as well as the Georgia Roofing Contractor’s Association (GARCA).  He lives in the Atlanta area with his wife, Natalie, and their two sons, Rhett and Charlie. In his spare time, Chapo enjoys mountain biking, pickleball, working out, hiking with his dog, Bear, and watching the Atlanta Braves and The University of Georgia Bulldogs Football.

Bill Peltz is an Inside Technical Salesperson at ATAS and has been there for over four years.  He provided support to Chapo within the territory.  Prior to joining ATAS, he had positions in construction for over 20 years in the Mobile Field Office and Commercial Modular Buildings Industry.  Together, Peltz and his wife, Beverly, have five children, 11 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.  They live with their dog, Charlotte (aka Charlie Girl) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  In his spare time, Peltz likes to watch the New York Yankees baseball games (a self-professed diehard fan), and he likes to write poetry, which he began doing in high school.  He has two books published (both collections of poems): “Moments and Memories” and “Sunlight from Within”.  For ATAS’ 60th anniversary in 2023, Peltz authored a special poem about the company and its history and recited it at the employee appreciation party that year.
