In response to the growing demand for spaces that offer both excellent acoustics and a connection to nature, Armstrong World Industries has expanded its SoundScapes Blades and SoundScapes Shapes acoustical ceiling and wall panels to include seven standard wood-look visuals.

The visuals include Brown Sugar Walnut, Toffee Chestnut, Vanilla Ash, Honey Oak, Bourbon Cherry, Earl Grey Teak, and Dark Mocha Walnut. These new options give architects and designers an opportunity to bring nature indoors with warm wood visuals that capture the natural beauty and uniqueness of wood.

SoundScapes Blades and SoundScapes Shapes offer excellent sound absorption and design flexibility through a variety of standard designs, shapes, finishes, and installation options on ceilings and walls. These panels can also be coordinated with wood-look options for Lyra PB ceiling panels.

SoundScapes Blades

SoundScapes Blades vertical panels achieve sound absorption up to 2.05 NRC—depending on blade length and spacing—and are available in 20 standard panel sizes and shapes. Panel designs, lengths, and depths can be mixed for dynamic visuals. Lightweight blades are easily installed on standard 15/16" Prelude suspension systems available in coordinating finishes. For maximum design flexibility, the blades can also be installed from individual cable suspension or by direct attach method using Axiom® wall molding.

The Armstrong ProjectWorks complimentary design and pre-construction service is available for SoundScapes Blades installations.

SoundScapes Shapes

SoundScapes Shapes aesthetically define spaces with excellent sound absorption up to 1.15 NRC. Available in nine standard wood-look shapes—including triangles, trapezoids, and parallelograms—SoundScapes Shapes deliver strong acoustical performance in playful installations with angles, layers, shapes, sizes, and finishes on ceilings and walls. The shapes quickly install from the deck, drywall, suspension system, or on a wall in adjustable heights and angles. The panels can also be suspended as a group from the deck using a grouping frames kit to ensure alignment.

There are hundreds of ways to configure SoundScapes Shapes panels. The online Armstrong Pattern Gallery features 20 different patterns complete with a bill of materials for installing these versatile ceiling and wall panels. Patterns can also be configured independently choosing the “Configure Now” option at armstrongceilings.com/soundscapesshapes.

Efficiency, Sustainability and Other Benefits

Select products from SoundScapes Blades and SoundScapes Shapes are included in the FAST134 program and are ready to ship in four weeks or less. SoundScapes Blades and SoundScapes Shapes panels are made in the U.S.A. of domestic and global content and are Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act compliant. They are also part of the CleanAssure™ family of products, including disinfectable panels, suspension systems, and trim.
