Case Engineering’s Structural team partnered with Plocher Construction of Highland, Ill., to deliver the new Park North Golf Club, which officially opened on July 12, 2025, in Edwardsville, Ill.
Located at 3601 Sports Park Drive on the north side of Plummer Family Park, the facility offers 40 climate-controlled driving bays, an 18-hole championship putting green, a full-service restaurant and bar, private event spaces, and outdoor seating. The driving range is powered by TrackMan technology, which provides precise measurements of swing performance and ball flight.
Case Engineering designed the 20,000 square feet, two-level structure using a combination of steel and wood framing to support engineered tilt-up wall panels designed by Knapp Engineering of St. Charles, MO. Wood trusses frame the roof over the restaurant and gathering areas, while steel moment frames support the second floor and roof, allowing the building to cantilever over the two-tiered driving range.
“We worked closely with architect Lance McOlgan and the contractor to ensure the structure could handle complex loading while maintaining the clearances guests need to swing freely,” said Kyle Linenfelser, PE, SE, Principal/Senior Structural Engineer at Case Engineering.
Construction began with an official groundbreaking on Aug. 19, 2024, and was completed in one year. The project was backed by local investors and led by managing partner Bob Timmermann.
“We’ve created something special for golfers of every level in the Metro East,” said Timmermann. “From beginners to scratch players using PGA Tour technology, to families enjoying mini golf and chef-driven dining, Park North Golf Club truly offers something for everyone.”
