Scott Casabona Wins AWCI Pinnacle Award
Mountain Lakes, N.J.-based subcontractor of Sloan & Co. wins AWCI’s top honor at this year’s BUILD26 in New Orleans.

At this year’s AWCI Awards Ceremony, Scott Casabona, president and CEO of Sloan & Co. in Mountain Lakes, N.J., was honored with the Pinnacle Award. The AWCI Pinnacle Award is given to an individual who most merits the industry's highest recognition. The recipient of this award has given time and energy unselfishly for the benefit of AWCI and the industry, and exhibits family dedication and commitment to community.
Many industry friends and colleagues congratulated Casabona in a video presentation before he was honored with the award.
"Scott is very passionate about everything related to AWCI," said John Hinson, division president at Marek Brothers Systems and 2024 Pinnacle Award winner.
"I am extremely grateful to the people who mentored me and gave me advice," Casabona said. "I’ve made lifelong friends here. I had the privilege of working alongside some of the biggest recipients of this award."
Sloan & Co., originally founded in 1962 as Sloan Acoustics, began as a small acoustical ceiling subcontractor and quickly grew into a major player in the commercial ceiling industry through its reputation for quality and innovation. Responding to client demand, the company expanded into drywall and carpentry in the 1970s, followed by custom millwork in 1988, earning “Premium Grade” certification from the American Woodwork Institute for its high standards. Renamed in 1995 to reflect its broader capabilities, Sloan & Company now operates as a full-service interior and exterior systemscontractor, led by President & CEO Scott Casabona and Senior Vice President Eric Takach.
Last year's winner, Mike Taylor of Liddle Brothers Contractors of Nashville, is this month's cover story for W&C.
