Sherwin-Williams Boosts Kentucky Plant Capacity
Automation expansion aids production for building product finishes

Sherwin-Williams Coil Coatings has completed a major expansion of its manufacturing plant in Bowling Green, Ky., increasing production capacity and adding automation to support growth in construction and manufacturing markets.
The company said the upgrade includes new technology, expanded batch capabilities and a 60% capacity increase compared with 2025.
“Our Performance Coatings Group continues to invest in advanced technologies that support innovation and long-term partnerships,” said Karl Jorgenrud, president of the group.
Sherwin-Williams said the improvements will enhance formulation accuracy, reduce defects and improve consistency across its coating systems.
The facility manufactures coatings used in a range of building products, including doors, appliances and interior and exterior metal components.
“Enhanced automation will also improve formulation accuracy, reduce defects, increase consistency and strengthen the plant’s ability to meet lead-time commitments,” the company said.
