T-P Acoustics Wins 2026 Contractor Challenge
T-P Acoustics claimed the 2026 Contractor Challenge belt at CISCA Summit, showcasing speed and craftsmanship in a high-energy competition featuring eight top acoustical contracting teams.
T-P Acoustics was named the 2026 Contractor Challenge Champion, taking home top honors after a fast-paced, high-skill competition featuring eight leading acoustical contracting teams in Grapevine, Texas, on April 22.
GRAPEVINE, Texas —T-P Acoustics was named the 2026 Contractor Challenge Champion, taking home top honors after a fast-paced, high-skill competition featuring eight leading acoustical contracting teams.
Held at the Gaylord Texan during the 2026 CISCA Summit, the annual Contractor Challenge brought together competitors and spectators to highlight craftsmanship, speed, and precision in ceiling installation. Teams advanced through two rounds before T-P Acoustics faced M&H Building Specialties, which won the title in 2025, in the final showdown.
T-P Acoustics, represented by Sal Gonzalez and Sergio Contreras of Phoenix, secured first place, earning a $5,000 prize, a championship belt and a set of Hilti tools. M&H Building Specialties finished second.
“The Contractor Challenge was an exciting day for the eight competing teams, as well as for everyone who came to watch,” organizers said. “All of the competitors showed skill, speed and excellent craftsmanship.”
Scott Watkins, sales manager at Interior Supply and an event organizer, emphasized the challenge's competitive spirit and technical demands.
“We have eight teams competing here in Grapevine, and we’re in the finals with T-P Acoustics and M&H going head-to-head,” Watkins said. “Each team had an hour and a half to install a traditional 2 x 2 ceiling with perimeter trim and a suspended acoustical treatment below. They were judged on safety, quality and their ability to interpret the drawings.”
The competition featured products from major manufacturers, including Armstrong World Industries, CertainTeed, Rockfon, USG, G&S Acoustics, and EzoBord/Ayrsonics, with Hilti supplying tools and prizes. ABC Supply Interiors also supported the event.
