The Metal Construction Association is proud to announce the launch of the 2022-2023 Metal Architecture Academy. Part of Architectural Record’s Continuing Education Center, the new academy is comprised of eight courses including an on-demand webinar, a multi-media course and six written courses.

The sixth edition of the National Center for Construction Education and Research’s General Carpentry curriculum is now available as the first level leading to a two-pronged course path. In response to customer usage and market demand, the new program will include career paths for carpentry for building construction and form carpentry, as well as interim credentials for each.

Werner has committed to training over 30,000 construction professionals nationwide. Werner will host more than 150 free in-person training events during the month of May in support of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration’s 2022 National Safety Stand-Down initiative.

In April of 2022, the High Performance Insulation Professionals (HPIP) are bringing the industry an Insulation Career Fair & Training Expo.

Employers, manufacturers, distributors, contractor services, and career seekers with entry-level to advanced experience are all invited to attend the 2022 Insulation Career Fair & Training Expo. 

Without question, the building and construction industry has been impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Approximately 1.1 million construction jobs were eliminated in the first two months of the pandemic prior to the industry’s designation as “essential.” While the industry has recouped nearly 80 percent of its workforce since then, companies will need to hire another 1 million workers over the next two years to meet the country’s insatiable demand for new home construction and improvement.
