Higharc — the all-in-one homebuilding platform for design, sales and construction — is pleased to announce a $1.3 million strategic investment from Simpson Strong-Tie. The investment represents the company’s ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art solutions to the building industry with digital platforms and physical products.

Following its acquisition by GMS in December 2021, the AMES platform continues to execute against its growth strategy by adding three new AMES store locations in Fresno, California; Palm Bay, Florida; and Concord, North Carolina, enhancing its market coverage in these geographies. The opening of the Fresno location represents the 100th store opening for AMES.

Metal wall cladding continues to be a growing sector in the design and construction of both residential and commercial buildings. To assist contractors who may not be familiar with installing single skin metal wall panels, ATAS International offers installation training in three of their manufacturing locations, with a selection of several dates in 2023.

GMS established three new greenfield locations since its last platform expansion press release. The activities expand the company’s presence, provide enhanced service and broaden the product offerings in their respective markets.

GMS Inc. provided an update on the continued execution of its platform expansion strategy with its first entries in the New York City market. These include the acquisition of Tanner Bolt and Nut Inc.

The parking garage at 3 Maple in Essex Junction, Vermont, won the first-place award in the accents category in ATAS International’s 2021 project of the year competition. Custom perforated panels in Regal Blue .125 aluminum were installed on the building.

Tubelite Inc. introduced its 950SG Series Therml=Block Window Wall system. The four-side, structural sealant glazed window wall provides a thermally broken, aluminum framing solution for between-slab horizontal spans on commercial buildings.

On Dec. 8, GMS Inc. reported financial results for the fiscal second quarter ended Oct. 31, 2022.

The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute is accepting entries through Feb. 24, 2023, for its annual awards program, which acknowledges outstanding achievement in creative design, technical innovation and best practices in the use of cold-formed steel and recognizes individuals who have volunteered significant time and talent to the cold-formed steel industry. The 2023 CFSEI awards will be presented in three categories: Design Excellence, Creative Detail and the John P. Matsen Award for Distinguished Service.

Simpson Strong-Tie has announced that Karen Colonias will step down from her position as Chief Executive Officer, effective Dec. 31.
